Walkers will appreciate the many footpaths and bridleways in the surrounding countryside, including the Thames Path, which starts at the source of the River Thames just 1 mile north of Kemble, and other national trails.
A mile or so outside the village is Kemble Airfield, which hosts several flying events throughout the year, as well as other exhibitions.
The ancient market town of Cirencester is 5 miles away, offering a wide range of quality shops and restaurants, an excellent museum, regular craft, antique and farmers’ markets, and specialist crafts workshops at the Brewery Arts Centre.
Other nearby attractions include a variety of water sports and activities at the Cotswold Water Park, summer polo matches in Cirencester Park, the world-famous horse trials at Badminton in May, horse racing at Cheltenham, woodland walks through Westonbirt Arboretum, antique shops, and beautiful gardens and historic houses to visit.
